What engine supply involves
Engine sourcing is rarely a matter of matching a brand name alone. Three variables determine whether an engine supplied for a machine will perform correctly: the model and serial range of the machine it is fitted to, the production year, and the emission and fuel configuration the machine was built with.
Where a customer can supply the machine serial number or a photograph of the engine nameplate, fitment can be confirmed before dispatch. Where that information is not available, engine model numbers should be cross-referenced against the machine parts catalogue rather than assumed.
Preparation and packing
Engines are inspected before packing. For a new engine the check covers external condition, absence of damage in transit, and confirmation that the supplied configuration matches the order. For a used or refurbished unit the scope additionally covers starting and running behaviour where the unit can be started before loading.
Because engines are heavy and have specific lifting points, export packing uses wooden crates with forklift access. Units are secured against movement inside the crate, and openings are sealed against moisture. Engines destined for long-distance sea transit are additionally protected against corrosion, since condensation inside a sealed container is a common cause of damage during a long voyage.
Documentation and shipping
Export documentation is prepared for customs clearance at destination, including the commercial invoice and packing list describing engine model, quantity and dimensions. Where the engine is supplied with additional components such as a gearbox or mounting hardware, these are listed separately so that the customer can verify the consignment against the order on arrival.
