PRESSURE TRANSDUCER MBS 1250 - SANY

Description

The MBS 1250 is a heavy-duty OEM pressure transmitter commonly found on SANY crane hydraulic systems. Here is how it works and what it does:

1. Core Design and Protection
The transducer is built with a stainless steel body and a piezoresistive sensing element. Its key feature is an integrated pulse-snubber, which is a small restriction inside the pressure port that dampens sudden pressure surges. This protects the sensor from cavitation, liquid hammer, and pressure peaks that occur during fast valve closures or pump starts, ensuring a longer service life.

2. Primary Function
The sensor measures relative (gauge) pressure in the hydraulic circuit and converts it into a standard electrical signal, such as 4-20 mA, 0-10 V, or ratiometric voltage. It outputs a linear, calibrated signal with an accuracy of ≤ ±0.5% Full Scale. This signal is sent to the crane's control unit, which uses the data to monitor system pressure and manage functions like outrigger stabilization or boom operations.

3. Physical Installation
The transducer is installed directly into a hydraulic manifold block or cylinder port. Common pressure connections include G1/4" or UNF threads. Electrical connection is typically made via a Deutsch or M12 connector. The transducer is designed for ambient and media temperatures from -40°C up to +125°C, and its IP67-rated housing withstands harsh job site conditions.

4. Maintenance and Replacement
Routine checks involve inspecting the electrical connector for secure fit and checking for leaks around the thread connection. Replacement requires depressurizing the hydraulic circuit, disconnecting the plug, and unscrewing the old unit. The new sensor should be installed with a fresh seal and tightened to the specified torque
