XCMG Euro III Truck Crane Electrical Swivel Slip Ring
This electrical swivel, also called a slip ring, is a reference for selected XCMG Euro III truck cranes. It transfers electrical power and control signals between the chassis side and rotating superstructure while allowing slewing movement. Circuit count and wiring configuration must match the crane.
Identification Checklist
XCMG crane model, serial number and Euro III electrical configuration
Complete label and every supplier or assembly reference
Number of circuits, wires and connectors
Connector keying, pin count and cable length on both sides
Housing diameter, mounting flange and bolt pattern
Rotor/stator orientation and anti-rotation bracket
Presence of additional pneumatic or hydraulic passages, if any
Application and Service Scenarios
The swivel may be considered when confirmed internal continuity problems cause electrical functions to fail or flicker at particular slewing angles, when wires or connectors are physically damaged, or during planned centre-joint refurbishment. Intermittent faults during rotation are a useful clue, but harnesses, connectors, grounds and controllers must be checked before replacing the complete slip ring.
Diagnosis Before Replacement
Record which circuits fail and at which boom or slewing positions. Inspect external harnesses, connector pins, water entry and mounting movement. Continuity and insulation testing should follow the appropriate electrical procedure without applying damaging test voltage to connected electronics.
Installation and Cable Routing
Mark the fixed and rotating sides before removal. Maintain the specified centre alignment, anti-rotation support and cable bend radius. Do not twist the harness to compensate for incorrect orientation. After installation, check all transferred functions throughout controlled slewing movement.
Packing
The rotor and housing are immobilized, connectors are capped and cables are coiled without tight bends. Anti-static and moisture protection are used, with orientation labels on the package.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can a Euro II electrical swivel replace a Euro III unit?
Not without confirming circuit count, connectors, wiring and complete system compatibility.
Why do faults sometimes appear only at one slewing angle?
Internal contact wear or external cable movement can change continuity as the superstructure rotates.
What should be tested after installation?
Verify every transferred power and signal circuit through controlled slewing according to the crane procedure.
