Motor Grader Headlight – Voltage, Beam and Mounting Guide
A motor grader headlight must fit the machine electrical system and deliver the intended road or work-area beam. Correct selection depends on voltage, lamp technology, connector, bracket geometry, housing size and beam orientation.
Lighting identification checklist
| Area | Check |
|---|
| Electrical | Nominal voltage, power requirement, polarity and connector pinout |
| Light function | Headlamp or work lamp, high/low function where applicable, beam shape and orientation |
| Mounting | Bracket type, hole spacing, pivot size and adjustment range |
| Housing | Width, height, depth, lens direction and cable exit |
| Environment | Required sealing and vibration suitability from verified product data |
Before replacing the lamp
Check fuse, relay, switch, ground and supply voltage under load. Inspect the connector for corrosion or heat. A dim light can result from voltage drop rather than the lamp itself.
Installation and aiming
Route the harness away from articulation points, sharp edges and hot parts. Tighten the bracket so the lamp remains adjustable without moving during operation. Aim the beam according to local requirements and the machine service procedure to avoid glare.

FAQ
Can a higher-power lamp be installed?
Only if the circuit, connector, fuse, bracket and heat management are approved for it.
Is connector shape enough to match a light?
No. Voltage, polarity, pinout, beam and mounting must also match.
Why check voltage under load?
A corroded connection may show normal open-circuit voltage but drop when the lamp draws current.
Compatibility note: Confirm electrical, optical and physical fitment before ordering.
